Dr. Teele's book examines views of intelligence, brain research and the relationship to student learning, gender research in reference to multiple intelligences and presents a new model that offers a balanced approach for understanding how students learn.

The new model compares the rainbow and colors to multiple intelligences. If we are to consider the human potential as the entire spectrum of the rainbow with seven different intelligences, then we must acknowledge that each individual is unique and has the potential to develop ability in each of the intelligences. The model demonstrates a way to focus on the different ways students learn by providing a rainbow of opportunities for them to shine.

Chapter Seven presents seven units that have been designed around the idea of colors and the rainbow and integrates all of the intelligences into purposeful learning experiences that can be adapted to any grade level. The units present ways to include many of the academic content standards.
