Sue Teele, Ph.D., is the Director of Education Extension at University of California, Riverside. She administers over 750 courses annually to over 12,000 educators per year. Her responsibilities include supervising six state approved credential programs, nineteen certificate programs, three to four conferences a year, over 200 staff development inservices at school sites, the Renaissance Project, an educational research and training program that examines the relationship of the theory of multiple intelligences to student learning, grant funded programs in mathematics, science, reading, technology and English language learners, professional courses for teachers and academic and enrichment programs for youth. Education Extension offers three unique certificates, the Study of Multiple Intelligences, Educational Facilities Planning and Advanced Placement for Educators that are not offered anywhere else in the world.

Her research areas focus on methods for integrating the theory of multiple intelligences into the classroom, the relationship of current brain research to instruction, multiple measures of assessment, approaches for teaching reading and writing and methods for teaching English language learners.

She has created a spatial inventory entitled The Teele Inventory for Multiple Intelligence (TIMI), which is used in over 10,000 locations and in twenty-five countries. This inventory can be used with children as young as two years of age to gain an understanding of how they learn. She has written five books, the last two are The Multiple Intelligences School: A Place For All Students to Succeed, and Rainbows of Intelligences: Exploring How Students Learn. Her newest book is entitled Overcoming Barricades to Reading: A Multiple Intelligence Approach will be published by Corwin Press in 2004.

Dr. Teele has provided over 300 presentations to school districts, educational organizations and businesses. She has taught in Japan at a residential multiple intelligences international school, and presented in Italy at an international conference. In September of 2002, Dr. Teele received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. She taught a modified version of the Certificate in the Study of Multiple Intelligences.
